Hello, hello, hello, everyone. Sorry for the delay between posts, but my internet connection has been pretty lack-luster in recent weeks. If I wasn’t about to move into another apartment I might actually do something about it.

That being said – I don’t really know where to start with this post. Things have been, for a lack of better words, pretty shitty. For starters – my cell phone is broken. It fell out of my pocket while I was biking home from work, leaving it completely smashed. I haven’t been able to call or text anyone for about two weeks now, but thanks to Addam’s dad it should be up and working by tomorrow. Thank goodness.

Day-to-day stressors have been driving me out of my mind, and I need a little BFF time to regain my footing. (Heather – definitely expect a call this week. You have absolutely no idea how much I’ve been needing you lately. You get me, and I’ve been missing our Tuesdays/Wednesdays.)

But my phone isn’t the only thing that’s left me stressed. Lately it’s been hard for Addam and I to make ends-meet, and our financial situation has become an added stressor. We get by, but it’s very rare that we get to go out to eat or even just enjoy each other’s time.

That said, last Thursday we did get a night out. Someone Addam works with was celebrating a birthday, and they invited us to Miami Prime, a nearby bar, to celebrate. We took the bus up north around 10 p.m. and had about an hour before anyone else from Red Lobster showed up. Still, it was fun. Ladies drank free and there was no cover charge, so at the very least I didn’t have to worry about wasting money.

We hung out and chatted with Addam’s work friends until a little after midnight, stopped by a convenience store for a much-needed banana and made it home by 1 a.m., not that much worse for wear. I finished off the work week, and it’s been relatively smooth sailing throughout the weekend.

In fact, I really haven’t done much of anything. Addam worked both Saturday and Sunday, so it was just Yoga and me. I transformed the apartment with a major fit of house cleaning and washed every article of dirty clothing that was in my possession. I also hung up and refolded everything, which was REALLY a chore. (You’ll remember that when Emily was here a few weeks ago we went through every bit of clothing in my closet in an effort to find some cute workout fits. Well, we never quite got around to putting them back. While picking out an outfit each morning has become a daily obstacle, everything is finally back in place.)

Other than that, Yoga and I have laid low. We made it through the entire seventh season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which I’ve missed since my high school days, and cuddled. After the hectic week I’ve had, I relished the alone time. Unfortunately, It’s back to the daily grind tomorrow. Wish me luck.

“Money is like a sixth sense — and you can’t make use of the other five without it.” — William Somerset Maugham (1874-1965), writer.

Sorry, I’m just reading this one! I’m so glad we got to connect… it was very much needed! And more of it is always a welcome addition to my life. I feel lost without my Tuesday/Wednesday Ashley time! I completely know how it is to be so broke. It blows. Really.

And I HATE hanging up clothes. That’s literally my most hated chore. I can see why you put it off. You rock for getting it all done in one go like that! It would have taken me until next November.
